As a vegetable Beetroot is cultivated at a large scale mostly in India, Pakistan, Northern Africa and Europe. A wild kind of Beetroot is also existed which naturally grows but this kind is not usable in any means. In Europe, the Beetroot has become the second largest vegetable/diet cultivated after Potato and has gained the profitable position in the Industry. How Beetroot is used
The green leaves of Beetroot are used as Salad. The Beetroot is used as boiled and cooked in different dishes like cooked along with meet as curry. In some territories, its pickle is prepared and used. In Europe it is used to produce Sugar but its sweetness is lower as compared to the product of Sugarcane. In Ireland, the juicy and delicious leaves are favorite and cooked like Spinach and it does not contain Oxalate and so is not dangerous.The Prophet (P.B.U.H) suggested the curry of Beetroot along with Barley Bread for the patient's weakness confirming its usefulness for them. Beetroot is not a warm diet and contains low cholesterol. Some practitioners has stated useful in Spleen disease and directed to use with honey. Its juice is useful for jaundice and its related other problems.
