Hazrat Da'ood (Alaih-e-Salam) was bestowed the knowledge of Medicines. All the trees, herbs and other metals (stones etc) talked to him and self explain the benefits and advantages naturally they contain. And they note the same and so the first book of medicine came into existence.
ALLAH has pointed the importance of wisdom in the Holy Quran:-
And definitely, We bestowed to Luqman wisdom (intelligence) saying, 'Be grateful to Allah'. And whoever is grateful, is grateful for the good of his own and whoever is ungrateful then certainly Allah is Self Sufficient, All praised.

And ALLAH accepted and given the honor to His Pray and a Son was bestowed to Hazrat Abdul Muttalib (Alaih-e-Salam) and granted Prophecy and granted great Holy Book and tremendous knowledge and Wisdom.
ALLAH has described his blessings in Holy Quran:-
And Allah has sent down to you the Book and Wisdom and has educated to you what you did not know and great is the grace of Allah upon you.

He also guided not to prescribe any prescription for the patient without the proper knowledge of medicines and illness. Unqualified practitioner is not allowed medication, because it is too much risky in this way.
The commentators state in this regard that an unqualified practitioner, causing loss to the patient, prolong medication and forcibly retaining the patient , be taken into task and be punished for this unlawful act.
